This week, Program Managers Margie and Jamie bid goodbye to the students and teachers that helped make this year possible.
Every year in August, current program managers overlap with the incoming managers to allow for introductions and a smooth transition to life and work in Cusco. A program year that runs August to August allows managers to make the change while students are mid-way through their school year. In this way, though our girls say goodbye to one set of profes, they are ensured continuity of classes and get the opportunity to work with two new teachers. Bittersweet, this is always a sad but exciting time.
Kicking off with an orientation in Washington, DC, new program managers Megan and Liya got a flavor for GirlSportWorks before getting on the ground.
Coupled with their Cusco training, the girls are equipped to pick up where Jamie and Margie left off. We wish them the very best of luck for a successful year.
